In 1942 a young railway enthusiast and radio buff was caught up in the troubles in Singapore. Put to work on the 'Railway of Death', the Japanese line from Thailand to Burma, he was brutally tortured and emotionally destroyed by his experiences. It was nearly fifty years later, when he discovered that his interrogator was still alive, that his life was changed.
