Dorothea's War

Published for the first time, these are the diaries of a young nurse stationed in France during the First World War. Winning a medal for her bravery, despite the tragedies that surrounded her, she maintained her optimism and high-spirits throughout the War. Poignantly, she died in 1919 after contracting peritonitis, just before she was due to return home to England.
