Many of Holst's early works were heavily influenced by his love of Wagner's music but his fascination with Hindu spiritualism and English Folk tunes ensured that his music style evolved and he developed his own unique style. This is epitomised by his most popular work, The Planets, which deals with the "seven influences of destiny and constituents of our spirit".
