Written for the World Book Day Quick Reads promotion. In March 1928, Frederick Smith is forced to seek refuge in a remote hotel when his car breaks down. The only other guest tells him about the history of the town, and how all the inhabitants disappeared in the mountains. When he awakes the next morning, he finds himself alone, and decides to search the mountains for any trace of the long-lost villagers.
